North Babylon High School: Mission, Vision, Core Beliefs

Mission: The purpose of North Babylon High School is to prepare students to be thoughtful, informed and productive 21st century citizens who value learning, possess collaborative and creative skills, and demonstrate character that aligns to our democratic principles.   

Vision: The faculty and staff of North Babylon High School will dedicate themselves to working and learning together to improve our professional practices in accordance with best safety practices with a clear focus on our students’ development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, character, as well as collaborative and communicative abilities, to benefit our community and strengthen our democratic ideals.

Core Beliefs: The administration, faculty, and staff of North Babylon High School are committed to the Core Beliefs that guide our work. Our Core Beliefs derive from the idea that all adolescent students can learn and excel, and they will receive the highest quality education that we will provide in order to maximize their potential, become lifelong learners and productive 21st century citizens. Striving to educate the whole child, we believe in meeting the individual academic, social and emotional goals and needs of every student. We will continuously improve our school programs, embody high standards,  and deliver rigorous content and thoughtful curriculum. 

In order to maintain an educational environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and citizenship, we believe that it is essential to develop skilled teachers, strengthen academic programs, acquire up-to-date technology and encourage cooperative parent-school-community relationships. Students thrive when the adults in their lives (parents, teachers, community leaders) establish common goals, continuously learn, and work collaboratively on their behalf.

Our Mission and Vision align with these Core Beliefs. Our Core Beliefs shape our goals, program and course offerings, support systems, and co-curricular activities and athletic programs. North Babylon High School’s Core Beliefs are its stable foundation and provide a purpose for all the initiatives and improvements that the school undertakes.  North Babylon High School’s energies and resources will be spent ensuring that as students reach commencement, and join the adult community, they are academically and developmentally prepared.
